Triumph is a Canadian hard rock band that was popular in the late 1970s through the 1980s. Eight of the band's albums were certified gold or higher, and Triumph was nominated for multiple Juno Awards, including Group of the Year Award in 1979, 1985, 1986 and 1987.

Like their fellow Canadians Rush and Saga, Triumph began building their reputation across North America as a live band, peaking in the early to mid 1980s. The band was formed by Toronto music veterans Gil Moore (drums, vocals) and Mike Levine (bass, keyboards, producer), after meeting guitarist, singer, songwriter Rik Emmett in a manager's office in Toronto in 1975.

Triumph Bonneville Reviews

Triumph Bonneville is the name given to three motorcycle models from this notable British motorcycle marque. It is named after the Bonneville Salt Flats in the state of Utah, USA, where Triumph and other motorcycle companies made attempts on the world motorcycle speed records. All share a parallel-twin four-stroke engine configuration. The current version, produced since 2001 by the modern successor of the original company, is a completely redesigned and re-engineered evolution of the original design.

Since the arrival of the current 'Hinckley Bonneville' (produced in Hinckley, England), the earlier T120 and T140 (produced in Meriden, England) have been referred to as 'Meriden Bonnevilles', to more easily distinguish between the versions.

Triumph TR Speculations: Will BMW Revive The British Firm?

In a recent statement towards shareholders, BMW CEO Norbert Reithofer revealed that the BMW Group hasn’t ruled out the option of purchasing a forth brand providing of course that it meets certain criteria’s like to at least make the same contribution to earnings as its existing automobile business. Reihofer’s statement has since sparked a serious of rumours including the revival of Triumph. The German carmaker had acquired the rights to the British marque when it bought MG Rover in 1994.

Now Brit magazine Autoexpress is supporting that it “can exclusively uncover exciting plans by BMW to bring back one of Britain’s best-loved marques". Wishful thinking or inside information? Well, in our opinion, Autoexpress' article is a bit vague leaving both options open. In any case, the Brits created a few renderings featuring a modern interpretation of the Triumph TR that aims towards Mazda’s highly successful MX-5/Miata. 1976 Triumph Spitfire With 425Hp Nissan Skyline Turbo Engine!

Talk about globalization; this guy took the pride (…) of British roadsters, a 1976 Triumph Spitfire and stuffed it with Japan’s iconic R31 Nissan Skyline RB20 powertrain. According to the fella that’s selling the pimped roadster on eBay, the Skyline’s 2.0-liter turbocharged engine is good for a whopping 425 Hp. Not bad if you consider that, the Spitfire weighs just about… 1,800 lbs or 815 kg. Of course, there’s no way of verifying the sellers claim on the engine’s output, but if true, this is one Triumph that can definitely spit some serious fire-power. -More pics after the jump
