Silk Blaze Creates 271HP Honda CR-Z with HKS Turbocharger

One of the most striking Honda CR-Z proposals at this year's edition of the Tokyo Auto Salon came from Japanese tuning firm Silk Blaze. The heavily modded concept model boasts a full body kit with a new front bumper and grille assembly, side skirts, a rear wing and a new rear bumper with additional air vents on top, plus a diffuser and three-exhaust pipe openings in the center. The tuned CR-Z rides on deep-dish 19-inch alloys wrapped in chunky 225/30 rubber.

Even more impressive is the beast that lurks under the hood as the tuner said the CR-Z concept model features a HKS supercharged version of the 1.5-liter four-banger delivering 271-horses (202.4 kW). No other details were given about the powertrain upgrades in the firm's spec sheet. You can gaze upon the rest of the pictures after the break.

HKS is Such a Tease; Honda CR-Z with a Supercharger Testing on the Dyno

The big news here is that, along with the usual suspension, brake and aero upgrades, famed Japanese tuner HKS, is also readying a supercharger kit for the CR-Z hybrid sport hatch. And while the company didn't publish any performance numbers, it did release a video of a supercharged CR-Z testing on the dyno, but with a twist. If you scroll down on the Youtube description, there is a footnote concerning the F1-like sound of the prepped-up CR-Z that reads:

"GT Supercharger Kit for CR-Z is under development. This is a shortened video of dyno setting of the kit.* Caution) Since it is shortened, it sounds like F1. The actual GT Supercharger Kit does not sound like this." Feel free to comment after the jump...

Kudos for the tip Bret!

HKS Takes on Honda's CR-Z Coupe: Anyone Else Gonna Take a Shot?

It's no surprise that tuners are coming out of the woodwork to modify the all-new CR-Z. A mere 3 days after Spoon's announcement to tune Honda's latest hybrid, famed Japanese tuner HKS has dropped hints (a.k.a. a whole bunch of photos) that it'll be offering upgrades to the car's looks, suspension and exhaust system; standard fare.

Here's what else is standard fare: all the other bits everyone else is making, but with HKS stamped (or stuck) on them. What's a brother have to do to get a little engine work around here?

HKS Prepped Hyundai Genesis Coupe Coming to SEMA

Hyundai seems to be working with a large number of aftermarket tuners to create several souped-up Genesis Coupes for this year's Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show that will take place in Las Vegas this November. The latest tuner to announce that it is working on the rear-wheel-drive Korean coupe is HKS. The tuning firm said that its version of the Genesis Coupe will feature a series of modifications including a HKS GT Turbo upgrade (we presume that HKS is talking about the 212HP 2.0-liter turbo engine), a custom exhaust system and intake system, a new engine management unit and a fully-adjustable suspension. -Continued

As expected, HKS will also upgrade the Genesis Coupe’s appearance with a functional bodykit designed by Ken Style. Inside, HKS says that it will emphasize driver comfort and control with HKS electronics including the CAMP2 that monitors up to 24 data signals from the Genesis OBD2 and programmable calculations for fuel costs, average fuel consumption and fuel efficiency in real time.

HKS Presents Carbon-Fibre Aero Kit for Suzuki Swift Sport

Suzuki’s latest generation Swift is one of our favourite mini cars; it’s reliable and well built, it’s nice on the road and it looks nearly as good as a MINI (….) without costing an arm and a leg. The top-of-the-line Sport version with its perky 125 Hp 1.6-liter is even better adding a dose of sportiness to the mixture. While we wouldn’t have minded a few more horses under the hood, HKS’ offering for the Swift Sport which was redesigned for the Japanese market last year (see here), concentrates on appearance and handling.

The Japanese tuner’s aero kit includes mirror caps, front and rear lip, roof spoiler, hood with an aero scoop and a rear door spoiler all of which are made out of carbon-fibre. The Swift’s exterior looks are complemented by a set of 18-inch Advan RC-III alloys wrapped in Yokohama tires (215/35 R18). Additionally, HKS offers buyers the option of suspension, brake and chassis upgrades. –More pics after the jump

Now, HKS has announced details on its tuning package for the new EVO X. Depending on how far you’re willing to push your hand in your pocket, HKS offers a series of mechanical and styling upgrades for the EVO X with the most important being of course the power kit.

Other mods include a chassis upgrade kit with new suspension parts and a lower ride height combined with 19-inch Advan Racing RZ alloy wheels wrapped in 265/30R19 Advan tires. As for the styling package, it consists of an aerodynamic bodykit along with carbon fiber mirror caps, hood scoop, side protectors and front apron. –More pics after the jump
